The PSR85-600-70 is part of ABB’s PSR series — a family of compact soft-starters focused on simplicity, space efficiency, and reliable soft-start/stop functionality. It supports a wide input voltage range (208–600 V AC) and a universal control supply (100–240 V AC, 50/60 Hz), enabling use in diverse industrial installations.

With a rated operational current of 85 A, the soft-starter can manage motors up to approximately 22 kW at 230 V, 45 kW at 400 V, and up to 55 kW at 500 V — making it suitable for small-to-medium three-phase motor applications. The start and stop ramps are adjustable via onboard potentiometers, offering smooth acceleration and deceleration, which reduces mechanical stress and electrical inrush.

A key feature is the integrated bypass contactor, which engages once the motor reaches full speed — reducing power losses and heating during continuous operation.
